REGULATIONS FOR USE
Proper separation and disposal methods of garbage will be mandatory for those who use this facility. Only Town of Land O Lakes residents and taxpayers will be allowed to use this facility.
Only the following waste products may be disposed of at this transfer station. NO TIRES OR CONCRETE PRODUCTS.
HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE WILL BE PLACED IN COMPACTOR
Includes food waste, food packaging, rags, cloth, plastic and foam containers, all waste paper, wax and plastic-coated cardboard, metal container lids, window glass, light bulbs, Pyrex glass and other types of glass and ceramics. Please dispose of in closed plastic or paper bags. Newsprint, cardboard, container glass, aluminum and yard wastes CANNOT BE INCLUDED!
Recycling Guidelines
RECYCLING WILL BE PLACED IN THE RECYCLING COMPACTOR
There is no need to sort or bag the recyclables. Please review the recycling list below.
ALUMINUM cans, pie tins & clean aluminum foil, rinsed clean can be recycled. Not food containers
GLASS bottles and jars to be rinsed out clean and have lids, caps, and rings removed. Not window glass, light bulbs, Corning or Pyrex glass, and other types of glass and ceramics must be disposed of in household garbage.
PLASTIC milk, soda and detergent bottles. Any containers market #1 through #2, rinsed clean, lids & caps removed. No oil bottles, styrofoam, hard plastic, syringes, plastic film, plates & plastic bags.
SCRAP METAL, TIN & STEEL CANS - steel aerosol cans (must be empty-no caps), food & pet food cans, metal pots, pans & utensils, small household appliances (toaster, blenders, etc) No cardboard-sided cans.
ALL PAPER PRODUCTS - Newspapers, Magazines, Cardboard(must be flattened), Card Stock, Office paper, Books-hardcover, Envelopes, Cereal & Food Beverage Boxes, Computer Printouts, File Folders, Phone Books, Milk & Juice Cartons, Wrapping paper, Junk mail, Shredded Paper in a paper bag, Empty Paper Towel & Toilet Paper Rolls. Not Bathroom waste paper, carbon paper, cellophane, cork, foil, waxed anything, candy wrappers, napkins, photographs, fiberboard, and labels.
