The question will appear on the ballot as follows:
REFERENDUM TO EXCEED STATE REVENUE LIMITS ON A NON-RECURRING BASIS
NORTHLAND PINES SCHOOL DISTRICT
Shall the Northland Pines School District be authorized to exceed state revenue limits by $5,600,000 each year for a period of three years on a non recurring basis for each of the 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28 schooJ years, in order to maintain School District programs and operations?
YES□ NO□
EXPLANATION
The referendum election ballot will ask District electors to vote “yes” or “no” on the referendum election question set forth above.
A “yes” vote on the referendum question would grant the Northland Pines School District authority to exceed the state’s revenue limit by $5,600,000 and include the revenue in the District’s annual budget for each of the 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28 school years. The District would be authorized to use such revenue to maintain District programs and operations.
A “no” vote on the referendum would deny the Northland Pines School District authority to exceed the state’s revenue limit by $5,600,000 and prevent the District from including the revenue in its annual budget to maintain District programs and operations.
In the event a majority of the electors voting on the referendum question vote “yes”, the Northland Pines School District will be authorized to exceed the state’s revenue limit by
$5,600,000 in the 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28 school years; if a majority vote “no” on the referendum question, the Northland Pines School District will not be so authorized.
